Eternity And My Son

I'll be honest with all of you. When I was a kid eternity scared the pants off of me. I could only think about is Jesus coming to my room at night and taking me away. To a kid that is scary stuff. Fast forward, now I'm thirty-ten(I don't want to say forty Megan) I now see eternity through a pair of different eyes. I understand that eternity is one of the building blocks of the Christian faith and that the world could not understand a joyous death, but isn't that what it is? I heard a character say on a cartoon that he would meet death as a groom greets his new bride. Wow, that's hard-core stuff. When my uncle was dieing my relatives were begging God for one more chance while I prayed for his soul. I think that is the difference. Isn't it?
I know I will one day sleep the sleep the apostle Paul spoke of and that does not bother me. On the contrary I find much joy and peace at that prospect, but what will the world be like for Connor? When I watch him sleep and while he plays it scares me that right now I'm his definition of a heavenly father. He will associate my actions to God's character. That kind of example makes me very nervous. So I end with this selfish thought, Come quickly Lord so my son and I can go at the same time lest he be left on this cursed place to fight it out until you return.
Goodnight All
